In the 33 years since Kim first joined Seyfarth Shaw, the legal industry around her has changed drastically, but Kim hasn't missed a step. A longtime advocate for systemic improvements to the firm's operations, Kim was part of the firm's initial exploration of Lean Six Sigma in 2005.
Today, Kim is Managing Director of Lean Solutions for SeyfarthLean Consulting. In the intervening years, hers has been the mission of changing hearts and minds. Working side by side with Seyfarth legal teams to deliver greater value and better client experiences, Kim has pioneered the integration of legal project management and legal process improvement into the practice of law. Along the way, she has been a guide, instigator, and co-conspirator to many a lawyer looking for a better way.
Kim leads SLC’s Client Services practice, comprised of one of the first and largest teams of client-facing legal project managers and process improvement consultants. With emphasis on service model innovation and delivery optimization, Kim’s focus is on driving continuing advances in how legal teams work, for enhanced value, better outcomes, and great client experiences.
Kim is widely recognized for her work with service model innovation in the legal industry. She has been named the International Legal Technology Association’s Professional Services Champion of the Year for her leadership in legal project management. Kim is a member of the Project Management Institute and has collaborated with the American Bar Association to advise on the development of project management curriculum for legal practitioners. Kim is a member of the ABA’s Knowledge Strategy Board, focused on defining, designing and implementing project management within the legal industry.
Kim is a frequent speaker on legal project management, legal process improvement and has addressed law school students on these topics. She is a faculty member of Practising Law Institute and has authored several articles related to her field. She is an active member of the Chicagoland Chapter of the Project Management Institute, ILTA, Midwest Legal Technology Training Group and the National Association of Professional Women. Kim is a certified Project Management Professional, Certified Scrum Master, and has obtained Six Sigma certification.
Outside of work, you can find Kim on the road riding her Harley-Davidson or at home with her four children and five dogs.
