As the Director of Technology Innovations, Byong helps clients use technology to better run their law departments. With nearly a decade of consulting experience, Byong excels at envisioning and implementing applications and delivering them with his characteristic organization and efficiency.
Byong has managed large-scale system implementations from inception to deployment, and he has worked with clients in a host of industries including pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial, manufacturing and information technology services. His breadth of experience—which encompasses strategic planning, business processes and workflow development, team facilitation, testing and training—enables him to bring a full-stack perspective to his role as a manager of interdisciplinary professionals.
For Byong, dual interests in business and technology as an undergrad at the University of Illinois soon converged into working for several top consulting firms after graduation. But one particular engagement advising a law department on its use of technology resulted in his eventual pursuit of a J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
During the week, Byong is a subject matter expert on the intersection of legal solutions and technology. Away from work, he is a subject matter expert on cars and architecture, a man who also greatly enjoys spending time with family and friends.
“Transforming the practice of law is a big mission, but it's something we make happen by taking a lot of small steps.”
